Living La Vida Lum: Finally back into the swing of things...

Well, its been a little crazy in the last few weeks at the Lum household and I realize many of you are looking for updates. First, let me give you the most recent update that many of you have been concerned with. This past Sunday Kylie did come down with an inflamed parotid gland. It basically means your salivary gland that is below your ear and at the top of your jaw becomes swollen causing severe discomfort to eat and pain on your side of the face. We had to admit her to Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital due to this issue and to make sure this would not effect her hearing. Kylie ended up staying three nights with IV's and medications constantly pumped into her, but like a trooper she took it all. With the "Ritz-Carlton" service at Joe DiMaggio's the doctor's were excellent and were able to get this swelling down and under control. There were no effects to her hearing and she is back to her normal happy self! Also, I am going to thank my wife for going 4 days of living at the hospital to be by Kylie's side and looking over everything.

Now for the fun stuff! A few weeks ago we were able to get away on a week long cruise that brought Kylie the biggest smiles on her face. She truly understood all the luxuries of being on the ship. The serve yourself ice cream, the horse carousel, the variety of foods onboard, the kid's Adventure Ocean daycare, the lazy river pool, and all the other entertainment. Their is no better feeling for a parent when you can see how happy your child is. When your child just has the biggest smiles and wants to tell you all about it, it brings joy to your heart.

I think we only went on the carousel about 18 times a day and spend about 20 minutes a day staring at the carousel for the times it was not open.

Peaceful mornings with Daddy! Or maybe not so peaceful for the neighbors at the crack of dawn.

Kylie learned about the Adventure Ocean for kids very fast. It is a day/night care for kids where they have constant activities. Each night we would feed Kylie dinner and then she was off and running to play here. (Please note she decided to wear a dress!)

Pirate nights was one of her favorites! Note: these pictures are at 10PM when we get her out of Adventure Ocean and she just couldn't wait to tell/show us what she did!
