Can you believe that it has only been four months since
Kylie’s cochlear implant was activated and she heard for the first time in the
new fashion? I feel like it was
years ago. Today marked a major
milestone as today was the first doctor appointment where they officially
tested Kylie with the cochlear to see how well she would do.
The results make me get teary eyed and feel very
blessed! On her right ear her hearing
levels are normal, okay you knew this would happen as that is what the device
is meant to do but it also implies that they have programmed it to where she is
hearing appropriately. There will always
still be fine tuning.
The other good news is that when testing with words meaning
they say hand and there are four pictures on the page. One Picture would be a ham, hand a witch and
a watch. She would have to accurately point
to what was said and it only could be repeated one time. Prior to the cochlear implant Kylie scored a
50% out of 25 pictures. Today she scored
a 76% that is over a 25% improvement in 4 months. Simply amazing, she really is doing so well.
The last part of her appointment is they now have put back
the hearing aid on her left ear so the improvements should continue rapidly.
Thank you for following the progress of our little one we
are truly blessed by the amazing doctors and technology and are so thrilled
with this journey! Tonight we are
celebrating as Kylie was SO GOOD at this 2 hour testing appointment and having an
ice cream party! YOLO

YAY!! This is great news. I know it's been a tough journey at times but thankfully Kylie has two amazing parents guiding her through this. She is one amazing girl. Celebrate indeed - even throw some sprinkles and gummy bears on top!! Congrats.
